I had batted around ideas on .357Mag and Kimber 45s but eventually decided on the M&P in .40 Cal.

Took it to the range tonight and shot 50 rounds just to get the feel.

I am not accurate with it yet but at 10 yards could put them in a five inch circle. I do better with 45s. I think its the single action trigger of thr 45 vs the double action of the M&P.

Anyway I was shooting a little left and determined it was because I was useing -to little trigger finger.

Gun never jamed and did not kick hard at all. It also returned to the target pretty well.

The couple of times I shot and knew I was right on; I was, so its just a matter of practice.

Its very comfortable to shoot not snappy as many say about the 40. Easier on you than a Glock 22 as far as recoil.

Had a ball and think this is a very good gun.

Ammo is expensive for it however. I would say a 9mm would save you a bundle over the long haul.
